The fighting game community just wrapped up a massive weekend at Evo 2024, but that doesn’t mean the action is going to stop or take a break.
Bandai Namco is implementing server maintenance in Tekken 8 today, July 22, to prepare for the big new Summer update and bring Lidia Sobieska into the game as its second DLC character.
According to their previously released schedule, Tekken’s maintenance period is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. PT / 5:30 p.m. ET and last potentially seven and a half hours until 10 p.m. PT / 1 a.m. ET though it may end up being longer or shorter.
During this time, all online features will remain unavailable including matchmaking, lobbies, leaderboards, replays, the in-game shop, rewards and more.
Once complete, the Version 1.06.01 update is going to be implemented into Tekken 8 bringing in some new features and changes.
Lidia will be available to play with the new update when it goes live for those who own the Year 1 Character Pass while those looking to pick up her separately will need to wait until July 25.
On top of the new fighter, every Tekken 8 player will receive the additional Seaside Resort stage for free to hit the beach.
Similarly, everyone will have access to the new Photo Mode as well to set up and take better in-game pictures.
There aren’t planned to be any notable balance changes in the new update beyond bug / behavior fixes, but Special Style controls are said to be getting some improvements too.
Back at Evo, Bamco unveiled Heihachi Mishima is somehow still alive and coming back as Tekken 8’s third DLC character later this year.
Stay tuned to EventHubs for for Tekken updates and the full patch notes once they go live.
