Must read

Two new candidates have emerged for the Leicester City job as the club continue their hunt for their next manager.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been spoken to by City, the Sun report, and could offer him a route back into management. Solskjaer has been out of work since his three-year spell at Manchester United came to a close in late 2021.

The Norwegian had a much-scrutinised time in charge at Old Trafford, but they finished third and second in the Premier League table in his two full seasons in charge, while they were a penalty shoot-out away from winning the Europa League.

Before City, Solskjaer was most recently linked to the vacant manager position at Turkish giants Besiktas. However, they opted to appoint former Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The other new name is that of Davide Ancelotti, the son of and the right-hand man to Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid. Ancelotti junior has seen his reputation soar in the past couple of years for the tactical work he’s done behind the scenes and on the touchline with his dad.

Spanish outlet Revelo say Davide Ancelotti’s nous has not gone unnoticed by City nor French side Reims, with both clubs approaching Real Madrid to ask about his availability. However, the reports are that they have been knocked back, with the 34-year-old keen to spend one more year with the Champions League winners.
