Now, the hype train is about to go into overdrive with the release of a leaked trailer for the new season, which can be watched above.
The clip, shared online by several prominent Fortnite leakers, features a frenetic battle between demonic mask-clad, katana-wielding characters against the backdrop of a Tokyo-style city in the shadow of a Mount Fuji-esque mountain.
The action kicks off with Fortnite’s heroine Hope bounding over rooftops as a train weaves through the city (yes trains are back after previously appearing in chapter 5, season 1). She then pulls out her trusty blade to turn an enemy into holographic ashes in a scene that evokes the classic Disney movie Tron.
Next, we’re transported to a Japanese temple, where a blue-haired character guns down enemies before fist-bumping Baymax, the robot from Disney’s Big Hero 6 who we know is appearing in the new season.
There’s also a boss fight with a fiery demon, whose mask players can also wear to launch fireballs at their foes. At one stage, a giant scarlet samurai walks into the frame as explosions are popping off all around him. We also spotted menacing portals that probably beam players around the map, cherry blossom trees and these cute water sprites that players can apparently interact with.
When is Fortnite Chapter 6 coming out?
The leaked trailer comes before Fortnite Remix: The Finale, an in-game concert that will see out the current season on Saturday November 30, with performances from Snoop Dogg, Juice Wrld, Ice Spice and Eminem.
Then, Fortnite Chapter 6 will commence on Sunday December 1. We already know that it will feature Godzilla, who will apparently roam around the map attacking players. Those aforementioned masks will also reportedly imbue players with elemental abilities.
