JOEY Essex’s pal Lauren Goodger has slammed the Love Island final after he was axed from the telly villa last night.
Joey, 33, and his partner Jessy Potts, 25, were sent packing from the IT2 show – just one day before the series finale.
They were dumped by their fellow islanders in a cruel twist that saw ex stars returning to the villa to cast a vote.
And Joey was caught in an epic showdown with his first partner in the show, Samantha Kenny, who accused him of using her as a place-holder and lying about their “chemistry”.
Ciaran Davies and Nicole Samuel didn’t receive any votes and sailed through the final, with odds on the Welsh couple to win the 11th series of Love Island.
Behind them is Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan, followed by Sean Stone and Matilda Draper, and Ayo Odukoya and Jess Spencer.
Lauren hit out at the ‘moody and insecure’ remaining finalists on social media after pal Joey was axed.
She said on Instagram last night: “The wrong couple went home tonight and the ones who are going to win are not going to last five minutes out here.
“And I said it from the beginning, both moody and so much insecurity.”
Last night, Maya welcomed back a slew of dumped Islanders led by the first axed Islander of the series Sam and followed by Patsy, Munveer, Samantha, Omar, Harriett, Ronnie, Uma, Wil, Jess, Hugo, Grace and Reuben.
Love Island fans were rooting for Samantha as she finally put Joey in his place.
One wrote: “Joey may have been a heartbreaker but it was Samantha who had the last laugh.”
A second posted: “Grace and Joey getting booted in the same week? Samantha really won.”
A third said: “The way Joey spoke to Samantha and Reuben??? Him getting dumped is not enough karma for me, I need more.”
Joey and Jessy received a total of seven votes and as a result were sent home – narrowly missing out on tomorrow’s final.
Jessy was left in tears as she said her goodbye, while Joey admitted it had been a tough journey.
During Monday’s episode, one lucky couple will be crowned the winners of the 11th series and take home the £50,000 cash prize.
There will now only be four couples bidding for the life-changing amount of money.
Love Island’s final airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
