Lady Gaga Unveils ‘Harlequin’ Companion Album To ‘Joker: Folie À Deux’

Must read

Lady Gaga’s next album, Harlequin, will be a companion to Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie À Deux, which hits theaters Oct. 4.

The album will arrive Friday, Sept. 27. Gaga had been teasing her next album, LG7, for a while, and she dropped hints about the project along with her press schedule at Venice Film Festival. That could still be a separate album, as the first single for that work will arrive at some point in October after the film and ‘Harlequin’ have released.

Before she posted the album cover, which features Gaga with an inflatable live vest beneath a running shower head, Gaga posted five slides that tipped her followers off as to an announcement coming.

Written on the slides are “Still Not October,” “Moondust Gets Everywhere,” “No Ducttape No Mission,” “Don’t Tell Me What To Wear” and “I’m Ready For My Interview.” She also recently released “Die With a Smile” with singer Bruno Mars.

Gaga release “Love For Sale (Deluxe)” featuring collaborations with Tony Bennett in 2021, and her last solo album before that was “Chromatica,” which she delayed to release in 2020 after she didn’t feel right dropping it in the early days of the pandemic.

She also contributed “Hold My Hand” to the long awaited sequel Top Gun: Maverick (2022).

Joker: Folie À Deux has musical aspects, though Gaga called it “very different” from a musical when she did press at the Venice Film Festival for the sequel.

“The music is a way to give the characters a way to express themselves because the dialogue wasn’t enough,” she said.
