Here’s your latest look at Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Sony/Marvel’s upcoming romp Kraven The Hunter.
Taylor-Johnson stars as Sergei Kravinoff, also known as Kraven The Hunter, in the film. Kraven is among Marvel’s most iconic and notorious antiheroes. In the comics, Kraven has encountered Venom, Black Panther and many others as well as being one of Spider-Man’s best-known and most-formidable enemies.
The film’s official synopsis reads: Kraven the Hunter is the visceral, action-packed origin story of how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared.
Oscar winners Ariana DeBose and Russell Crowe also star in the pic, along with Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, and Christopher Abbott. Sony Pictures’ first R-rated pic from its litany of Marvel characters is directed by J.C. Chandor from a screenplay by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and David Householter are the producers.
Teasing the film at this year’s CinemaCon, Taylor-Johnson confirmed the film would be R-rated, telling the audiences: “Will it be rated R? F*ck yes, it’s going to be rated R.”
The studio opens the pic wide in theaters on December 13.
