Warhorse has officially confirmed that the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance sequel will not have any DRMDRM (Digital Rights Management) is a digital content protection technology designed to control the use, modification, and distribution of copyrighted materials..
Last month, the Steam forums of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II’s Steam forums were flooded with negative comments criticizing the upcoming game and its developers for their probable plans to release the long-awaited sequel with Denuvo — a controversial DRM technology that makes piracy difficult but can degrade game performance.
The rumors surfaced when Vernon W., a customer service representative at Plaion (the parent company of KCD2 developer Warhorse and publisher Deep Silver), allegedly confirmed that the game would include Denuvo.

But in the recent a two-hour stream on Twitch where KCD2 gameplay and performance were demonstrated, Warhorse Studios PR manager Tobias Stoltz-Zwilling, also known as Sir Tobi, confirmed that the game will be released on PC without DRM, urging the community to «bury the issue and never talk about it again». He also urged fans to wait for official statements from Warhorse if such a situation arises and to consider any rumors as false until they are confirmed by the developers.
«Of course, there were some discussions, there was some inconsistency, there was some misinformation, but in the end, there will be no Denuvo at all, and I’d like to close the case with that,» Sir Tobi said during the stream. «This is something you really have to remember: until Warhorse announces something — it’s not true. This was the case with the KCD2 announcement, this would be the case with the specifications, and this is the case, for example, with DRM» now.
As a reminder, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II comes out on February 11, 2025 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
