King Charles will “never put his foot down with Princess Anne”, according to a commentator, as the royal begins her staggered return to duties.
The Princess Royal returned to official duties on Friday, June 12, after nearly three weeks of rest following a sudden injury.
On June 23, Princess Anne was hospitalised at Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure.
The 73-year-old left was left with a concussion after suffering a blow to the head on her Gatcombe Park estate.
Princess Anne is frequently referred to as the hardest-working royal with an incredible work ethic.
In 2023, she carried out the largest number of royal engagements with 457, more than King Charles III.
Gareth Russell, a royal commentator, spoke exclusively to GB News to explain whether King Charles or other members of the Royal Family would encourage the Princess Royal to slow down her schedule following her sudden injury.
He said: “I don’t really see anyone ever being able to put their foot down with Princess Anne.
“This is someone who is not only indefatigable in her public duties, but is someone who takes duty very seriously.
“She has spoken about ‘sticking to your duty’ as being a lifelong commitment.
“This is something that she does because she believes in it, and also because it makes her happy and feel fulfilled.
“So it’s always going to be a difficult decision to talk about, slowing down.
“It may be that after a period, she will be able to go back to the schedule that she had before.
“But certainly we have seen her children joke on television about their mother’s very, very busy diary, and her husband has joked about it as well.
“So it does seem to be a personality trait, and that’s always something that I don’t think we’ve much luck in changing.”
Zara once claimed she had asked her mother whether she would consider slowing down, but it was a “very short conversation”.
