Must read

The King and Queen attended a church service near Balmoral on Sunday to mark the second anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II and Charles’s accession to the throne.

The royal couple attended Crathie Kirk, which is close to their Scottish residence and where the late Queen was a regular worshipper, for private prayers and reflection on Sunday morning.

The service was led by the Rev Kenneth MacKenzie, who was chaplain to the late Queen and is now chaplain to the King, who comforted Queen Elizabeth II in her final days.

The Right Rev Dr Shaw Paterson, moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, spoke during the service
