Kevin De Bruyne casts doubt on Man City future as Liverpool watch on

Must read

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has hinted that he could be open to a move to Saudi Arabia in the future.

De Bruyne, who turns 33 this summer, has made 382 appearances in nine years at City, winning six Premier League titles and one Champions League. However, his contract at the Etihad expires in 2025, meaning this summer could be City’s last chance to secure a sizeable fee for the Belgian, who is yet to agree a new deal.

And he has now opened the door to a move to Saudi Arabia by admitting that he would have to consider the ‘incredible amounts’ on offer in the Middle East as he enters the final years of his career.

“At my age you have to be open to everything,” he told Het Laatste Nieuws. “You talk about incredible amounts in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that.

“If I’m going to play there for two years, I’ll be able to earn an incredible amount. I had to play football for 15 years before that. Maybe I won’t even get that amount yet.

“Then you have to think about what that can mean next. But at the moment I haven’t had to think about that yet.”
