The ‘Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy’ star spent Thursday, May 30, wedding dress shopping at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City
Kelly Bensimon said “yes” to the dress!
The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy starĀ and real estate mogul, 56, spent Thursday, May 30, wedding dress shopping at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City where she tried on various styles, ranging from mini dresses to ball gowns, full lace, and jeweled-embellished designs before selecting a few that truly caught her eye.
“Every single dress I tried on was amazing. And it just made the whole process so much more exciting,” she tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. But when she saw one dress in particular, she knew she had to have it.
“When I saw it, I was just like, oh my gosh, this is it. And I actually took a picture of myself sitting in it and I was like, this is the dress that I should be wearing,” she says.
Bensimon adds that her choice may come as a surprise to many. “It’s not something I would typically wear and it’s not something that you’ve seen me in before,” she says. “This is just a different kind of dress. It just gives you the wow factor, and I want to look like a queen.”

Bensimon, who’s set to marry her fiancĆ© Scott Litner this summer says her daughters Sea Louise, 26, and Thadeus Ann, 24, have been involved throughout the dress process, and have shared their thoughts on what styles they want to see their mom in.
“They are in their twenties and they’re just like, ‘Oh my god, mom, these are so gorgeous. And I have a very playful personality, so I do definitely want that to come out, but I also want to be the best version of myself. Ā They were loving it too,” adds Bensimon. “They were like, this is so cool. This is so fun!”
Bensimon biggest challenge now is narrowing down how many dresses she will wear on the big day.
“I haven’t decided yet,” she says. “But you’re going to see me in a lot of beautiful Kleinfeld dresses for a while now. I feel like this is my home away from home for everything from my beautiful wedding to red carpets, just beautiful.”
The mom of two also adds how she hopes to encourage other women getting married in their fifties to feel confident and know it’s possible to find a dress that feels right for them, as she has.
I”‘m in my fifties, I want women to want to get married in their forties and fifties and sixties and seventies, and I want them to feel beautiful and I want them to have fun and I want them to enjoy the day as much as possible,” she says. “So I’m just really having a great time and I haven’t even had champagne!”
