Katie Holmes Demonstrates American-in-Paris Style Done Right

Step aside, Emily Cooper and allow Katie Holmes to show you how American in Paris style is really done without a beret or a brightly-colored Chanel handbag in sight.

On Thursday, Holmes was spotted outside the Patou Haute Couture fall-winter 2025 show, where she looked like she would on any other day in Manhattan while dressed in her signature street style outfit formula of jeans, a T-shirt, and a comfortable yet chic pair of shoes. Repping the U.S. with a red, white, and blue color palette, the actress teamed her dark-wash, wide-leg denim with a white top that was layered underneath a navy blue jacket with gold buttons a bright red collar. 

She carried a white purse in one hand and finished off her look with black boots that featured a rounded toe and a delicate gold necklace. Holmes’ long brunette hair was worn down in loose waves with a middle part, while a pink lip, rosy cheeks, and a subtly smoky eye rounded out her glam.

Ahead of her Fashion Week appearance, Holmes brought her all-American je ne sais quoi to her new collaboration with French fashion brand A.P.C.—and of course, the capsule collection consisted of the Dawson Creek alum’s classic, It girl essentials, including cardigans, T-shirts, and statement outerwear.

“I love vintage and truly enjoyed stepping into the memories of A.P.C. garments of the past,” Holmes said of her design process. “Bringing the inspiration from collections from the early 2000s and working to make them modern and relevant to the 2024 customer was such a joyful and satisfying experience.”
