Though the couture shows have been in full swing over the past few days, Katie Holmes was enjoying a different kind of Paris fashion week. Yesterday, the actor and street-style star hit the City of Light to take in Patou’s spring/summer 2025 ready-to-wear collection – a decidedly less-formal presentation that was more about ease and wearability. “I was incredibly honoured and thrilled to attend the Patou show,” says Holmes. “Being a huge fan of the brand, I was excited to meet [designer] Guillaume Henry and get a sneak peek of the collection.” Admittedly, Holmes was also excited about having a brief jaunt in Paris, too. “Whenever I’m in Paris, I always make sure to catch up with friends who live here and enjoy the city,” she says.
Taking Vogue along for the ride during her whirlwind trip, her itinerary began the day before the show – with a special trip to Patou’s atelier, where Holmes got to meet Henry and enjoyed a preview of the runway collection. (The perks of being an A-lister!). “My favourite part was meeting everyone working in the ateliers and witnessing their craftsmanship,” says Holmes. “Fashion is deeply connected to art, and having access to it in such a unique way is a gift.”
The following morning, Holmes then got ready for the presentation, by slipping into her look for the day. As a well-noted fan of denim, she brought her love of classic blue jeans to the front row, styling a dark-wash pair with one of Patou’s new outerwear pieces. “I chose a jacket from the new collection that has a unique double-collar design that I love,” says Holmes. “The extended collars have such an interesting shape and the touch of red, which is my favorite colour, makes the look even more special. I love how it feels easy and comfortable, and the colours of the outfit remind me of petals.”
Once she made it to the presentation venue, Holmes took in the new assortment of sophisticated shirt dresses and blazers. “I have two favourite looks: one is the denim and black blazer outfit, and the other one is the polka dot dress, one of the final pieces,” she says. “They have a sense of frivolity and fun, while remaining grounded. They’re very elegant and have an element of strength to them.”
The same could be said about Holmes’s own wardrobe, and with summer officially here, she’s very keen on shopping the latest collection. “I’m excited about the pieces I saw on the runway, particularly the open-back tops and the skirts,” says Holmes. “They’re perfect for the heat, and they have a sense of freedom and sensuality while also being fun and stylish.”
Now that her Paris fun is over, however, the star is heading back to New York City for a busy Manhattan summer. “Up next, I’ll be doing a play on Broadway called Our Town, which starts previews in September and opens in October,” she says. We’ll be there.
