Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt’s family has grown again with the arrival of their third child together.
“We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our son, Ford Fitzgerald Schwarzenegger Pratt,” the couple shared in a joint Instagram statement on Monday, November 11. “Mama and baby are doing well and Ford’s siblings are thrilled by his arrival. We feel so blessed and grateful.”
The announcement’s baby blue infographic revealed that the little one was born on Friday, November 8.
Pratt and Schwarzenegger, who tied the knot in June 2019 after one year of dating, previously welcomed daughters Lyla and Eloise in August 2020 and May 2022, respectively. The actor is also the father of son Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris. (Pratt and Faris were married from 2009 to 2018 and welcomed Jack in August 2012.)
News broke of Schwarzenegger’s pregnancy in June, though the couple did not publicly confirm it at the time. The following month, Pratt posted an Instagram photo that showed off Schwarzenegger’s baby bump.
“Greatest party planner in history!” Pratt captioned an image of Schwarzenegger smiling as she wore pink gingham overalls and a white T-shirt while surrounded by balloons, a bounce house and more party essentials.
Schwarzenegger also shared photos from the gathering as she posed alongside a white rabbit and proudly displayed her growing belly. “It isn’t a party without a bunny appearance 🐰,” she wrote. (Prior to the July post, she had kept her bump hidden with baggy clothing and shots that showed her from behind.)
Shortly after welcoming her second daughter with Pratt, Schwarzenegger told Us Weekly that the pair were considering having more children.
“I come from a big family, so I love the idea of having a lot of kids around and a big family,” she said in October 2022. “Whatever God has in his plan for us is what we’ll do.”
Schwarzenegger also gave a shout-out to her mother, Maria Shriver, at the time for helping her navigate motherhood.
“It’s all a balancing act,” she explained. “I feel really lucky to be able to have obviously an amazing role model in my mom, and just being able to see how she balances it all. Just learning from her, being able to bounce things off of her and, at the end of the day, just knowing that family time is the most important time.”
In April 2020, Schwarzenegger told Us and other reporters how she and Pratt maintain a solid relationship, noting that she is a “big communicator.”
“I got married last June, and just communication constantly is, like, really the most amazing gift you can have, I think, in a partnership and in a relationship,” she shared. “I don’t like to go to bed angry. And we both are the same way.”
