The Princess of Wales was credited as the photographer behind the latest royal snap to mark Prince William‘s 42nd birthday last week. The royal’s personal photographer has now offered up their honest opinion of Princess Kate’s snap, which was taken in Norfolk last month.

The adorable image shows William and his three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – leaping over sand dunes at a beach in Norfolk.

Millie Pilkington – who is behind some of the most famous official photographs of the Royal Family – said that the new image captures “joy” and is “one of the best family portraits ever”.

According to the Mirror, Ms Pilkington said: “[It’s] one of the best family portraits ever. [It] captures all the joy, love and laughter. Utterly brilliant.”

Her opinion has also been echoed by many royal fans, with one taking to Instagram to comment: “Possibly the best picture I’ve seen of the family.”

Another fan wrote: “This has to be one of our favourite photos!”, whilst another simply wrote: “BEST ROYAL PHOTO EVER”.

To mark the Prince and Princess of Wales’s 13th wedding anniversary back in April, Millie released a never-before-seen picture of the newlyweds on her Instagram account.

The sweet image shows Kate and William, who were then known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, beaming at the camera on their wedding day – which took place at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.
