Kate Middleton never puts a foot wrong when it comes to dressing for royal events.
And, for this year’s Trooping of the Colour, she’s proven that she’s got her finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest fashion trends.
Kate’s Jenny Packham dress featured a large monochrome bow at the collar – from the red carpet to TikTok influencers, bows have been everywhere this season.
And, in a cute matching moment, Princess Charlotte’s nautical-inspired outfit also features a bow at the collar, plus she wore one in her hair.
From jewellery to homeware, the bow trend shows no signs of slowing, it’s thought to have been an evolution of the ‘girl’ trends of last year (think girl dinner and girl hobbies).

Ruffles, ribbons and statement collars have also been popping up more in the world of fashion. Designers such as Miu Miu led the way with the trend, and we’ve seen celebrities embrace it, including Nicola Coughlan and Sydney Sweeney.
And, this isn’t the first time that Princess Kate, 42, and daughter Charlotte, who recently turned nine, have coordinated their outfits.
Perhaps most famously, the pair wore very similar outfits to the King’s Coronation in 2023.
The mother and daughter duo were dressed alike, with both wearing Alexander McQueen ivory dresses with very similar headpieces made of silver bullion and crystal.
The parallels between the two royals were spotted by fans on social media at the time, who described the pair as ‘the epitome of a real life beautiful princess and future queen’.
And, in December 2022, the pair wore matching burgundy looks for Kate Middleton’s carol concert.
Kate wore a bespoke calf-length coat-dress by London based designer, Eponine, while mini-me Charlotte also wore a burgundy coat, with hers made my British children’s brand, Trotters Heritage.
In fact, the Royals united in burgundy that day, with Zara Philips and Pippa Middleton donning burgundy coats too.
When Charlotte was toddler, she and Kate often colour-coordinated their outfits.
In 2017, a two-year-old Charlotte wore a super cute pink floral dress while Kate wore an Alexander McQueen outfit in the same hue (they were clearly ahead of the game when it came to Barbiecore).
And, they colour matched again a year later, when the pair both wore an adorable duck egg blue.
Again, Kate wore Alexander McQueen, meanwhile Charlotte wore another cute floral dress. That year, the Queen also wore blue.
Little Charlotte has worn bows in the past.
She looked oh-so-sweet in a black and white Peter Pan collared dress at last year’s Coronation Concert, which featured a small black bow.
