Kate Middleton has hinted at a possible return to public life this weekend after it’s been confirmed that the escaped military horses will take centre stage at Trooping the Colour.
According to reports, the Princess of Wales may be “considering” a surprise appearance at the King’s annual birthday parade on Saturday, 15 June.
This comes after she apologised in a heartfelt letter for missing the final Trooping the Colour rehearsal, known as the Colonel’s Review, last weekend.
The Princess of Wales, who is the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, wrote: “Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment, however, I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon.”
Meanwhile, the army has confirmed that three of the five escaped military horses who ran through London earlier this year will participate in the event.
Tennyson will be ridden by Corporal of Horse Harvey to provide “extra confidence” for his role in the prestigious Sovereign’s Escort at the rear rank of the second division.
Trojan and Vanquish, meanwhile, will be a part of the ceremonial guard for the official entrance to the Royal Palaces, joining the King’s Life Guard at Horse Guards.
The other two escaped horses, Vida and Quaker, are continuing their recovery in the countryside, but they are also expected to return to work.
How to watch the Trooping the Colour
Those wishing to view the King’s official birthday parade in person are advised to gather on The Mall and the edge of St James’s Park in London from 9 am.
For those watching from home, the event will be broadcast on BBC One from 10:30 am.

Kate Middleton absent from new King Charles appointments
According to reports, there have been long-standing calls for the future queen to be made a member of the institution – the oldest and most senior British Order of Chivalry.
The most notable appointment was that of the former director general of MI5, Baroness Manningham-Buller, who became the first-ever female chancellor of the Order of the Garter.
Kate’s attendance at this year’s Trooping the Colour ceremony has yet to be confirmed, as well as her potential attendance at Monday’s Garter Day ceremony.

Meanwhile, Trojan and Vanquish will be a part of the ceremonial guard for the official entrance to the Royal Palaces, joining the King’s Life Guard at Horse Guards.

Trooping the Colour: Everything we know about King’s birthday and whether Kate Middleton will attend
Trooping the Colour is one of the most popular, glittering events in the royal calendar and it is taking place this Saturday (15 June).
The eyes of the world will be on London this weekend because of the royal family’s ongoing health troubles, which saw King Charles take a step back from his duties earlier this year.
While the Monarch has now returned to a “reduced” summer schedule, he is continuing his cancer treatment alongside the Princess of Wales, who has not yet returned to duty.
The Princess of Wales has, however, hinted that she could appear with her family on the Buckingham Palace balcony this Saturday and reportedly said she is “considering” it should she feel well enough.

Trooping the Colour’s confirmed attendees
So far, only King Charles and Queen Camilla’s attendance has been officially confirmed, but sources have suggested that Kate Middleton is “considering” a surprise appearance.
While Prince William is expected to attend, it is not known if he will be joined by his young children without his wife, especially with Prince Louis’s reputation for making mischief at events.

Three military horses that got loose in London to feature in Trooping the Colour
Three military horses that got loose in central London earlier this year have been confirmed as having roles in Trooping the Colour on Saturday.
Five Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) horses were injured after being spooked by rubble being dropped through a plastic tunnel while on an exercise in Belgravia on April 24.
Horses Tennyson, Trojan and Vanquish will take part in the King’s Birthday Parade after making “swift and successful” recoveries and showing “such aptitude and eagerness”, the Army said on Thursday.

ICYMI: King Charles’ new portrait covered in graffiti by activists at London gallery
The first official portrait of King Charles III since his coronation has been covered in posters by activists at a London gallery.
The group shared a video of two of its supporters pasting the face of the animated character Wallace over Charles’s on the red-hued painting by Jonathan Yeo. They also stuck on a speech bubble, which read in capitals: “No cheese, Gromit. Look at all this cruelty on RSPCA farms!”

London Garden Museum responds to Queen Camilla’s patronage offer
Queen Camilla yesterday joked that she would like to “nudge” King Charles’s role as patron of the London Garden Museum away from him.
The institution, which the Queen described as “such a special place”, subsequently responded and said they were delighted by her compliments.
TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh said: “She’s a great gardener and I know that Ray Mill is a wonderful retreat for her with her own garden.”
“We would be very happy to have the Queen and the King as patron, either or both. We just love that she loves to come.”
