Kate comforts ‘inspiring’ teenager with rare form of cancer

The Princess of Wales gave a hug to a teenage cancer patient who had been invited to Windsor Castle.

Kate met Liz Hatton, an aspiring photographer who has a rare and aggressive form of cancer, after the 16-year-old was asked to photograph award recipients at an investiture presided over by the Prince of Wales.

Afterwards, Kate and William held a 30-minute private meeting with the teenager whose doctors have said that she has “between six months and three years to live”.
