Jose Mourinho is set to launch a raid on former club Chelsea as he eyes an overhaul of new club Fenerbahce.

Mourinho was unveiled as the Turkish giants’ new manager on Sunday and has been charged with ending their decade-long title drought. The legendary boss has already warned that his squad will need strengthening this summer.

He will have to wait for the club’s presidential elections to be held though, with current chief Ali Koc facing a battle to keep his post. One of the leading candidates, Aziz Yildirim has already held talks with Mourinho over potential targets.

Yildirim previously led Fenerbahce for 20 years from 1998 and is seeking to replace Koc. And he has now revealed that Mourinho is pushing to sign Romelu Lukaku, Paulo Dybala and Anderson Talisca this summer.

He said: “If I had not said Jose Mourinho, would they have gone and agreed? Would they go? They do what I say. I also mentioned the players. We said Lukaku. We said Dybala. We said Talisca. We keep the rest to ourselves.

“Let’s be elected. I’ll tell you all the next day.”

Chelsea are desperate to sell Lukaku with the Belgian surplues to requirements, despite being signed for £97.5million just three years ago. He has been sent out on a series of loans since his miserable first season back at Stamford Bridge.

The most recent of those was to Roma, where Mourinho was manager until January this year. He was joined at the Stadio Olimpico by Dybala, who made a stunning move to join Mourinho in 2022.
