A new trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux was released by Warner Bros. on Tuesday.
Joaquin Phoenix, 49, reprises his role as Arthur Fleck, also the Joker, as he meets his match in Lady Gaga, 38, as Harley Quinn.
In one quick snippet, they are seen kissing while he is incarcerated.
They also share a kiss outside of jail and are seen dancing together wildly as they spin around.
The sequel to the 2019 Joker film has been given an official R rating for containing ‘strong violence’ and ‘brief full nudity.’
Joker: Folie à Deux will be released in theaters later this year on October 4, 2024.

Joker: Folie À Deux is the much-anticipated follow-up to 2019’s Academy Award-winning Joker, which earned more than $1 billion at the global box office and remains the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.
The new film stars Joaquin Phoenix once again in his Oscar-winning dual role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, opposite Oscar winner Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born).
Joker: Folie À Deux finds Arthur Fleck institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker.
‘While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that’s always been inside him,’ a press release shared.
Phillips directed the film from a screenplay by fellow Oscar nominee Scott Silver & Phillips, based on characters from DC.
The film was produced by Phillips, Oscar nominee Emma Tillinger Koskoff and Joseph Garner.
Lady Gaga served as music consultant.

The film’s executive producers are Michael E. Uslan, Georgia Kacandes, Silver, Mark Friedberg and Jason Ruder.
Working with Phillips behind the camera are his team from Joker, including Oscar-nominated director of photography Lawrence Sher, production designer Mark Friedberg, Oscar-nominated editor Jeff Groth, and composer Hildur Guđnadóttir, who won the Oscar for her work on the first film.
New to the team is Oscar-nominated costume designer Arianne Phillips (Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood, Don’t Worry Darling).
Ruder is the film’s executive music producer and the music supervisors are Randall Poster and George Drakoulias.
Joker 2 is ‘a big swing’ and will be ‘really surprising to people’.

He told Definition Magazine: ‘Something I appreciate about [director] Todd Phillips — who I’ve done seven movies with, including Joker — is that he’s always taking risks.
‘We’ve got the new Joker coming out next year and we’re just finishing up post-production on it.
‘This movie is a big swing and it’s going to be really surprising to people. I’m so excited for everyone to see it.’
Brendan revealed that he had joined the movie to have the chance to work with Joaquin again after the pair collaborated on the 2004 film The Village.
He said: ‘It wasn’t the material, which is a great way to get me out of having to answer any questions about the criteria.
‘It was the achievement of the first film. I worked with Joaquin before on ‘The Village’… And so I knew him from then.’
