National Trust
Horticulture apprentice – Level 2, Cothele, Lanhydrock
Location(s): Saltash, Bodmin
Description: As a horticulture apprentice, you will be part of the National Trust’s horticulture teams, helping to look after its 224 historic gardens, playing a vital role in delivering our conservation and climate change strategies, helping to undertake the regular tasks and horticultural maintenance, conservation, and care of the gardens to safeguard them for the future.
Working alongside your mentor on tasks specific to your apprenticeship, you will develop the skills & knowledge relevant to this apprenticeship standard. You will attend, and prepare for, regular review meetings with your training provider, and be accountable for your own progression, and you will be required to complete mandatory e-learning, courses and training provided.
Pay: £22,308 per annum
Holidays operation assistant, North Helford
Location: Bosloe, Falmouth
Description: The National Trust is looking for a holiday cottage cleaner to prepare its stunning holiday cottages at North Helford. On changeover days, you’ll make sure that everything’s clean and prepared for guests to arrive.
This will include making sure the cottage is thoroughly cleaned, well presented and welcoming for guests and that compliance checks are up to date and recorded. It would also like you to keep an eye out and report any repairs or odd jobs that need doing along with replacing any broken items from the store supplies.
Pay: £11.50 per hour
Assistant ranger, Lizard & Penrose, Gear Farm
Location: Helston
Description: As an assistant ranger, you’ll undertake different tasks in countryside management. This will include nature conservation tasks that will make habitats better for wildlife, site inspections, routine practical maintenance of countryside furniture, monitoring of wildlife habitats, and supporting and supervising volunteers. You’ll also help deliver activities that strengthen people’s connections with the outdoors.
Pay: £22,698 per annum
Visitor experience officer, Lizard & Penrose, Gear Farm
Location: Helston
Description: With your team, you’ll be welcoming people and inspiring them to really get to know Lizard and Penrose. This might include devising and running events and activities, and creating interpretive displays and other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life for everyone who visits.
You might be encouraging visitors to take a closer look at nature and landscapes cared for by the Trust. You might be supervising and supporting volunteers and organising rotas, and you’re likely to be checking standards of presentation on site, or helping to write for the Trust’s web pages.
Pay: £19,094 per annum

Eden Project
Sustainable chef apprentice
Description: The key responsibilities of this role include: supporting chefs in the production of high-quality produce, assisting in the development of new products to be sold across site, supporting all venues across the Eden Project site, from the biome kitchens, the Core, the Med Terrace, working to help deliver events and working at the famous Eden Sessions, and working with apprentices across Eden to deliver group sustainable projects.
Pay: £7.50 per hour in the first year (£8.60 for 18-20 year olds, £11.44 for over 21s)
Horticulture apprentice
Description: The key responsibilities of this role include: supporting the horticultural team in pruning, planting, seed sowing, watering, weeding and all plant care. along with habitat management, assisting with the creation and maintenance hard and soft landscaping – such as hedgerows, walling, fencing, pathways and bridleways, and having shared responsibility for use, care and maintenance of tools and machinery used in horticultural tasks including equipment for grass and hedge cutting, strimming, planting, pruning, and the use of golf buggies.
Pay: £7.50 per hour in the first year
Fundraising apprentice
Description: The key responsibilities of this role include: providing excellent donor stewardship by telephone, email, post and in person for existing and prospective supporters, processing financial transactions accurately and send acknowledgements within agreed timescales, maintaining records, recruiting donors, helping to identify ways to increase the profitability and profile of existing revenue streams, and leading, under supervision of the individual giving officer, on the creation and delivery of new and expanded fundraising products.
Pay: £7.50 per hour in the first year
Hospitality supervisor
Description: The purpose of this role is to supervise the hospitality venues to ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective front of house (FoH) service, providing visitors with a range of enjoyable and comfortable dining experiences within Eden’s various catering outlets.
As a hospitality supervisor, you will: supervise the deployment of the FoH service team to maximise efficiencies within each venue, ensure the efficient running of each Hospitality venue in accordance with policies and procedures laid down for each location, supervise cash handling and the accurate management of tills and cash float within each venue, and with the appropriate training and support you may be required to work in the retail and admissions, stewards and car parking teams according to business need.
Pay: £12.04 per hour
The Lost Gardens of Heligan
Fixed contract digital content creator
Description: The principal purposes of the role include: responsibility for all areas of content creation from concept to delivery, supporting the marketing team in developing a social media content strategy that aligns with the marketing strategy, and working with on-site Heligan team members in interpretation, horticulture, and estate to share the stories of the gardens.
