Consultant Legal Administrator at PRCBC

We need an experienced legal administrator on a consultancy (self-employed) basis. Our preference would be 10-5pm for 2 days per week, including the first Saturday of each month.

We are very small, registered charity representing children and young people with their complex citizenship rights.

We undertake strategic litigation and policy advocacy to remove legal and practical barriers to citizenship; and provide information and training to the public and professionals to increase knowledge of citizenship rights and capacity to secure these. All our work is conducted to the highest professional standards.

Due to the nature of our work and our young clients there is no scope of working from home. The work will need to be carried from our office in Hammersmith, London. For the same reasons, PRCBC will provide induction and supervision, and training as necessary.

The work of the consultant will vary to support PRCBC in all aspects of our work. This includes client and case work: maintaining effective communication and correspondence with our young clients and booking appointments; overseeing and updating our case management system; administrative financial work, costs billing and creating invoices; and administrative legal work: filing, scanning, archiving, photocopying, creating e-bundles, completing forms, and requesting subject access disclosure and other information from third parties.

To work effectively at PRCBC, it is necessary that the consultant maintains a professional approach throughout, is highly focussed, and well organised. Again, due to the varied nature of PRCBC’s work, consultants are involved in many aspects of the legal process, and interact with a wide range of individuals, from top solicitors and barristers to social workers and foster parents, alongside frequently vulnerable young clients and their parents.

For these reasons, the consultant must:

  1. Be highly committed to social justice.
  2. Have excellent interpersonal skills.
  3. Be resilient, determined, and flexible in their professional approach.
  4. Be consistently open-minded and willing to learn.
  5. Be proactive and clearly follow instructions.
  6. Have a minimum of 1-year relevant experience.
  7. Work well under pressure.
  8. Enjoy working as part of a small team.
  9. Have excellent IT skills.
  10. Be familiar with Adobe, Outlook, and Excel software.
  11. Have a right to work in the UK and submit to DBS enhanced check.

We would be able to pay between £140-180 per day depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.

Please send your CV and covering letter addressing your suitability for the role to Bryony Strickland admin@prcbc.net
