Jet2 and easyJet have issued a warning to UK holidaymakers with trips booked before the end of this week.
Air traffic control strikes, which started on May 24 and will continue to May 30, may disrupt flights. Strikes in France often disrupt travel in Europe, affecting not only flights into France but also across the country’s airspace.
Following the news, Jet2 and easyJet shared an update for passengers who may be impacted by the strikes. Jet2 said: “We wanted to let you know about strike action, supported by French Air Traffic Control from May 24 2024 to May 30 2024, which may cause delays to flights travelling through French airspace.

“Rest assured, we’ll try to keep any disruption to a minimum. Check-in will close 40 minutes before your scheduled departure so please arrive at the airport at least two hours before departure.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and release further information as soon as possible.
“Please make sure your contact details are up to date in ‘Manage My Booking’, and if the situation changes, our team will be in touch.”
Meanwhile, easyJet said: “We’ve been made aware of air traffic control strikes that will affect flights in and out of France from Friday, May 24 to Friday, May 31.
“We expect there will be disruption and delays as a result of the industrial action, so we advise all customers to continue to check the status of their flight on the flight tracker before travelling to the airport.
“Although this is outside of our control, we wish to reassure you that we are doing all we can to minimise any disruption to our flights that may occur as a result of the strike action.”
