Jeremy Clarkson’s daughter Emily gives baby lovely Irish name

Must read

A huge congratulations to Jeremy Clarkson’s daughter Emily and her husband Alex Andrew who have welcomed their second child into the world.

Emily, who is also mum to her daughter Arlo Rose who was born in February 2023, picked an unusual name for her new baby, including an Irish middle name.

Sharing the first photos of her newborn daughter on Saturday, Emily revealed the little one’s name and it’s a cute one!

Emily gushed in her caption: ‘She’s here. Xanthe Fiadh Andrew arrived a few days ago and just brought the sunshine with her. We are all so happy xxxx.’

According to BabyCentre, the name Xanthe is of Greek origin and means ‘yellow’ or ‘bright. Xanthe’s middle name is Fiadh, which was the most popular girls’ name in Ireland in 2023.

The name Fiadh is commonly thought to mean wild. Some say it could be associated with the Irish Fulacht Fiadh, which are ancient cooking mounds, still found throughout the country.

Fiadh is closely associated with deer, too – The Irish word for deer is fia. Interestingly, na fianna is the plural for deer – but The Fianna were also the heroic band of warriors in Irish mythology.

Emily’s second pregnancy has not been easy and she’s been very open about her struggle with extreme morning sickness, Hyperemesis Gravidarum.

A week before Xanthe’s birth, she told her followers that she had never intended to share as much about the condition as she did but that she’s so grateful for the support she’s found online.

She wrote: ‘By the time I announced at about 16 weeks I weighed less than I did before I was pregnant, I’d been hospitalised due to dehydration, I was bed bound, and despite the 9 daily antiemetic pills I was taking, everything, from my husband sitting down on the bed, to the smell of my daughter’s hair, to the thought of an avocado, made me physically sick.

‘I’ve subsequently come to the conclusion that my HG caused prenatal depression (so I started seeing an antenatal trauma therapist). It has been the hardest thing I have ever been through, harder in my second pregnancy than my first, due largely to the devastating guilt I felt not being able to be there in the way I wanted for my first daughter whilst making my second.

The physical symptoms got slightly easier as time went on, but it’s been 9 months since I got through a day unmedicated, since I ate a vegetable, or drank a glass of water. I am still sick every day. I cannot remember what food I like or what it’s like to want a cup of coffee.’

Emily continued to reveal that she’s now suffering from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome because of the constant vomiting and has her first cavity due to ‘only being about to drink Coke’ since April.

She finished her post by reaching out to others who might have HG, reminding them that they’re not on their own and that there is support available.

Many people praised Emily for how she coped with her HG during pregnancy in the comments to her birth announcement, with one person writing: ‘Aw Em, congratulations!!!! I’m so happy for you! Not just that she’s here but that you can finally EAT!!!! Sending massive hugs.’
