Kazee responded to criticism over his now-viral “HAHAHA” post via his Instagram Story on Wednesday, October 30.
“A guy can’t laugh about a houseplant TikTok in today’s world I see …” he wrote, before sharing a photo of one of his large plants draping over his bookshelf. “See? It’s funny because it’s relatable. Get a life.”
Kazee also posted a photo of a dead houseplant and “the most damning part” which was a water filter sitting right in front of the brown scrub. The photos were pegged to a TikTok he posted one day prior, in which he tagged Dewan, seemingly trolling their inability to keep plants alive.

Jenna Dewan’s fiancé, Steve Kazee, was not referencing Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz’s breakup news in his social media post.
Dewan’s rep noted to Us Weekly on Wednesday, October 30, that Kazee posted a meme about forgetting to water plants directly after he shared the now-viral “HAHAHAHA” post.
“He posted ‘hahaha’ right before the meme tagging Jenna. If we go to the post now it will show the meme about not watering the plants,” the rep told Us.
While several outlets have linked the post to Tatum, 44, — who was married to Dewan, 43, for a decade — and Kravitz’s split, which broke on Tuesday night, the rep told Us that is not the case.
People was first to report via multiple sources that Tatum and Kravitz had called off their engagement after three years together. Neither Tatum nor Kravitz, 35, have spoken publicly about the news. (Us Weekly reached out for comment at the time.)
After meeting on the set of 2006’s Step Up, Tatum and Dewan, 43, started dating and tied the knot in 2009. They share one daughter, Everly, who was born in May 2013. Tatum and Dewan announced their separation in 2018, and she filed for divorce later that year.
The former couple’s divorce got messy in court, lasting six years before they reached a settlement last month. (Dewan seemingly celebrated her divorce by posting a photo of Nicole Kidman from 2001, which was snapped after the actress finalized her own divorce from Tom Cruise.)
Despite the past courtroom drama, Dewan and Tatum stayed strong in their mission to amicably coparent Everly.
“It’s always a journey. It never ends,” Dewan told Romper in January. “You just learn as you go and get better at certain things, and for me, Evie will always be my top priority. I just continually put her first. That’s how I can manage all hard things.”
Dewan moved on with Kazee shortly after her split from Tatum. The pair were first spotted out together in October 2018. Nearly a year later, Us Weekly confirmed that Dewan and Kazee were expecting their first child together. They welcomed their son, Callum, in March 2020, one month after Kazee proposed to Dewan. In January, the couple announced that they were expecting their second baby together (Dewan’s third) and welcomed daughter Rhiannon in June.
Despite all their relationship milestones, the couple have yet to walk down the aisle.
“My family’s like, ‘When guys, when?’ We’ll get there. I promise, we’re getting there,” Dewan told Us of their wedding plans in June 2023. “We at least have the location, so we’ve gotten [a] step further. But it’s just been so busy, honestly. Life has been so busy, and work’s been busy.”
