Jadon Sancho says he will be “forever grateful” to Edin Terzic for “trusting me” after the 41-year-old left Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga club confirmed on Thursday morning that Terzic had left the club with immediate effect after asking for his contract to be terminated.
The German-Croatian coach brought Sancho back to Dortmund in January as the winger had been left out in the cold at Manchester United after a falling out with Erik ten Hag.

Following the news of Terzic’s departure, Sancho posted on Instagram: “Thank you for trusting me! [love heart emoji]. Forever grateful!
“I wish you the best of luck on your next chapter!”
Terzic was appointed interim manager of Dortmund in December 2020 after Lucien Favre was sacked and it was his appointment that helped Sancho earn a £73m move to Manchester United as Dortmund lifted the DFB-Pokal trophy.
Following his return to Dortmund on loan in January, 24-year-old Sancho scored three goals and laid on three assists as Dortmund reached the Champions League final at Wembley.
Sancho is due to report back to United in July when pre-season begins, with the winger facing an uncertain summer which is likely to end in him departing Old Trafford for good, be it loan side Dortmund or an alternative side.
“I don’t know yet but it was great to have him in the last six months,” Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl said of Sancho’s future ahead of the Champions League final earlier this month.
“He has increased our quality in the team.
“He still has a contract at Manchester United. We have no buy out option so we have to negotiate.”
