ITV Midsomer Murders fans issue the same complaint minutes into new episode

Must read

Midsomer Murders fans seemed to issue the same complaint just minutes into the new series of the ITV drama. Viewers were treated to the second episode in series 23, entitled The Debt of Lies, which comes three months after episode one aired on the channel back in April.

The instalment saw John Barnaby, played by Neil Dudgeon, investigating a murder at Challis Court, a gated community for retired police officers, but he soon realised the killer was an insider and an ex-officer.

However, just minutes into the programme, fans took to social media to share their thoughts – and some weren’t happy about it.

“Lol, now I know why I don’t watch this nonsense.. seems the programme-makers don’t understand how airbags work. #MidsomerMurders,” one fan complained.

Another echoed: “#MidsomerMurders is so boring, and it always features a middle-class family etc.”

“This isn’t doing it for me. I prefer the early, funny ones. But the tweets are great! #MidsomerMurders,” a third added.

While someone else fumed: “Terrible acting. Terrible casting. Terrible script. Just terrible. #MidsomerMurders.”

“It’s always the most famous actor on #MidsomerMurders that did it! Fail-safe conclusion every time,” another went on.

However, not all fans shared the same views and many were thrilled to see it back on screen.

“I love a twisty-turny #CosyCrime drama & #MidsomerMurders fits that bill,” one fan beamed.

Another agreed: “New Midsomer Murders, just what the doctor ordered #MidsomerMurders.”

Meanwhile, episode three of Midsomer Murders, titled A Grain of Truth, is set to air next week, at 8pm on Tuesday, July 23.

A synopsis for the episode reads: “The world of organic baking begins to crumble after a series of incidents at the newly revamped Larkton’s Mill.”

The third episode will revolve around the newly re-opened bakery and involves poisoned rolls, for which Barnaby and Winter and called in to investigate.

Midsomer Murders is available to watch on the ITV Hub.
