ITV I’m A Celebrity’s Coleen Rooney hit with devastating blow before final

Must read

With the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2024 finale just around the corner, Coleen Rooney has suffered a significant setback.

Initially entering the jungle as a top contender, bookmakers have now slashed her odds of victory. At 38, Coleen has been overtaken by Danny Jones in the race for the title.

The McFly frontman, who has led the betting since the outset, managed to fend off Coleen’s late surge, with bookies placing him at a strong 4/9 to win the King of the Jungle title.

Meanwhile, Richard Coles is tipped for third place, with odds of 12/1 if he manages to pull off a major shock, reports Plymouth Live.

Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati commented: “Danny couldn’t be in a better position, as far as the odds are concerned… with just three names still standing, punters are convinced he’s done enough to see off the chasing pack for this year’s jungle crown.”

In anticipation of the grand finale, Coleen’s mother, Colette, expressed immense pride in her daughter’s jungle journey and was delighted to witness Coleen’s regained confidence. Speaking to the Daily Mirror about their emotional camp reunion, she recounted: “As I held her, one of the things she said to me was ‘mum, have I been boring?'”

Hearing this concern from Coleen was heart-wrenching for Colette, but she reassured her, saying: “It broke my heart hearing that but I said, ‘no, you’ve been yourself and that’s all that matters. She is obviously thinking about what people are thinking, but she needn’t worry.”

Colette affirmed that Coleen staying ‘true’ to herself was key, stating: “If she went in shouting and being loud, that wouldn’t be her. We’ve seen the ‘true’ Coleen.”

She went on to reveal: “She said that she had a headache for the first few days because she was getting no sugar, and must have been detoxing, but then she said how hard it had been.”

Colette also shared her sons Kit and Cass’s excitement at their mum’s return. “They keep asking: ‘Is she here, really? ‘ They kept thinking she was going to jump out from behind a bush any minute,” she disclosed.

“We kept telling them ‘five more minutes and you’ll see your mum again’. They just couldn’t wait. It was so lovely.”

I’m A Celebrity comes to an end tonight on ITV at 9pm.
