Investigation underway after police called to jewellers in shopping centre

An investigation is underway after a robbery at a jewellery shop in Middleton.

Police were pictured outside the Middleton Shopping Centre this morning (June 13). Eyewitnesses said a window at Harveys The Jewellers had been left smashed.




A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were called to reports of a robbery at a jewellers at around 11am. No arrests have been made at this stage.

A probe into the robbery is now ongoing. Officers are urging any witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: “At around 11am this morning (Thursday 13 June 2024), we were called to reports of a robbery from a business premises in Middleton Shopping Centre. No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.

“Anyone with information or details that may help officers are asked to contact GMP on 101 quoting log 1088 of 13/06/2024. Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
