Holidaymakers looking for a villa with a show-stopping additional feature can book to stay in a ‘magical’ French Airbnb that’s like ‘something out of a dream’, according to tourists.

The short-term rental property comes with a major selling point – a river-like pool flows right through the property.

The ‘Pool House’, which is located in Goult – a town in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in Southeastern France – has one king-sized bedroom and one bathroom and can house up to two guests.

According to the Airbnb listing, it is owned by antique dealer Xavier, which is why there are so many vintage treasures dotted around the interiors.

The property is filled with natural wood features and lush plants.

But, it’s the impressive river-like pool that will no doubt wow holidaymakers the most – it winds its way through the property from an outdoor dining area and then on through the house.

The pool flows through stone arches, past green climbing plants and flowers and even away from the feet of a relaxing lounge bed that is covered in cushions and blankets.

The listing by Xavier states: ‘Guests are invited to use the owner’s 12-metre swimming pool, which is shared with his three other rentals, located in his unique shaded, magical, enclosed and quiet garden.’

A stay includes access to a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, dishes and cutlery as well as a hob, oven, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, coffeemaker, blender and freezer.

Wi-Fi, a workspace, heating, air conditioning and an indoor fireplace are installed in the home as well as a 40-inch TV with Chromecast.

The pool house has a courtyard view, free parking and security cameras.

Guests can enjoy a private dinner on a table inside or using a table out in the garden.

‘I would recommend [this] place, and the beautiful, quiet charm of Goult, to anyone looking to explore Provence!’

Philip, from Denmark, added: ‘Xavier’s place is, by far, the most interesting place we have stayed.

‘It feels like a place from a fairytale.

‘The Pool House, where we were staying, had a very cosy, organic vibe and the outside area, with a semi-indoor pool that goes in under the house, felt like being in a really cosy cave.’

Meanwhile, Californian Ryan, commented: ‘Xavier’s place is a five-star stay.

‘The beauty of the garden and artistry of the rooms is not captured in the photographs.

‘It is a unique stay and comparable to a five-star resort.’

Rachel, from Nashville, said: ‘We couldn’t decide where to go for two nights on our way from Lyon to the south of France and when I saw the pictures of Xavier’s place, I knew it was it!

‘Goult is a very small and quiet town (many stores and restaurants close on certain days and certain times of day), but it was a charming place [from which] to explore Provence and we had some of our best meals just steps from the Airbnb.

‘It rained all day on our only full day in Goult, but we still swam in the pool (which is fully covered and warm) and it was honestly the best rainy day we’ve ever had.

‘This place is like a fairytale!’

The pool house requires a two-night minimum stay and costs from £187/$238 a night plus cleaning fee and Airbnb fees (airbnb.co.uk). There are other properties within the same building, so guests may have to share the pool and gardens.
