Netflix have partnered with social media stars The Sidemen to become the exclusive home of their hit reality experiment ‘Inside’. The streamer has also commissioned a US version of the format, which will be produced by The Sidemen.
Inside sees a group of 10-12 content creators, reality stars and online personalities confined to a house for a week to compete in a series of challenges for a $1,000,000 prize pot. The series consists of seven episodes and will launch in 2025.
Production on the second series is underway, with 12 content creators competing over seven brand new episodes. As part of the deal, the first series of Inside, which premiered on The Sidemen’s YouTube channel, will be added to the streamer in 2025.
The Sidemen are made up of seven YouTubers – Ethan Payne, Harry Lewis, Joshua Bradley, KSI, Simon Minter, Tobi Brown and Vikram Barn – who have nearly 150 million subscribers between them. It follow the group’s previous work with Netflix on a documentary following their journey to success earlier this year.
The Sidemen say: “When we came up with the idea of Inside, we knew we wanted to shake up the game. We all grew up watching reality TV and are big fans of the drama and jeopardy that come with it…
“Combining that with a prize fund and the challenges that our fans know us for, we knew people would be hooked. We are so proud of the first series, and now with Netflix on board for a second season and a US version, this is just the start.”
Vikram Barn, part of The Sidemen, told BBC News: “Netflix is the gold standard and part of us working with them is to say that over the past decade we’ve managed to go from filming content in our bedrooms to working with the biggest streaming platform in the world.”
More details will be announced in due course.
