A fitness guru has exposed the truth behind the images we often see online.
Danielle, also known as Kale them with Kindness, is an online coach with a massive Instagram following thanks to her practical and relatable workout advice.
However, she doesn’t just share fitness tips – she also opens up about body image and the pressure people feel to conform to certain standards. Recently, she posted three side-by-side photos of herself, each one showing her looking slightly different.

Wearing the same outfit, Danielle posed, relaxed and then relaxed even more to demonstrate how her body’s appearance can change in mere seconds. In one pose, she appears super lean, but when she relaxes, her stomach looks fuller, complete with visible creases.
Despite the differences in each photo, Danielle looks stunning in all of them. She emphasised that people shouldn’t despise their bodies based on their appearance, but rather embrace them, remembering that what you see online isn’t always reality.
And – it’s fair to say – many people love what she does. They think she’s working to spread a super important message.
Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, Danielle wrote: “If your 80 year old self could speak to you right now, they’d say not to get so caught up with having a flat stomach and getting rid of belly fat, or trying to change your body to fit into societies beauty standards.
“They’d say to focus on being grateful for what your body gives you the ability to do and realise that you don’t need to conform to these unrealistic beauty standards to be beautiful. you are beautiful just as you are right now.
“Your 80 year old self would want you to show up just as you are and stop chasing to look like or be someone else. So take that advice now!
“Bring gratitude, appreciation and acceptance into your life & be aware of those moments when you start to think things like oh I wish I looked like her… because she may not even look like tha, she may be heavily posing, heavily editing.
“What would your 80 year old self say to you in the moments you’re struggling? Take that advice now, so when you do reach 80 years old, you don’t look back and regret how you spoke to and treated your body!”
Since she shared the post, more than 11,000 people have liked it and left positive responses. Many people commented to thank Danielle for being so open, and some even shared their own experiences too.
One person said: “I love this mindset. This helps a lot girl. You’re so beautiful and have such a lovely heart.” A second added: “I’m the relaxed you look genuinely happy. The energy is contagious!”
And a third replied: “Totally true, we care much about it right now but with more years and knowledge we would nicer with ourselves at this moment.”
