I’m A Celeb’s Melvin and Oti squeal in terror at horrifying Bushtucker Trial

Must read

I’M A Celeb’s Melvin Odoom and Oti Mabuse squeal in terror as tonight’s Bushtucker Trial sees spiders thrown on their faces.

A horrifying clip from tonight’s installment shows the pair taking on Tanks of Torture, which requires teamwork and a cool head.

In fact, Melvin, 44, was so keen to get involved, he asked Barry McGuigan, 63, if he could take his place since he hadn’t done one yet.

Despite his initial enthusiasm, Melvin may have regretted the decision as the trial commenced.

During the challenge, Melvin and Oti are locked in large water tanks while wearing plastic helmets.

The pair have to move stars along a pipe and release them at the other end while dealing with water-dwelling critters, including eels and yabbies.

As if that isn’t enough, the trial becomes even more terrifying when crew members lower several enormous spiders into their helmets.

The arachnids are seen crawling around Melvin’s head, leaving him visibly trembling in fear.

Tanks of Torture isn’t Melvin’s only source of stress in the jungle.

Viewers have clocked tension between Radio 1 colleagues Dean McCullough and Melvin – and it’s not new beef.

Melvin was first to call out Dean’s behaviour after struggling with the “relentless” task of constantly collecting water for camp – and the Northern Irish star’s regular disappearing act.

Fans on Reddit commented: “Why do I get the feeling Melvin has wanted an excuse to say stuff like this to Dean for years?”

Tensions boil over on I’m A Celebrity as camp turn on Dean McCollough – and he’s left speechless by new nickname

A second noted: “I get the vibe that they don’t really know each other/hang out/are friendly at work.”

A third remembered: “I keep forgetting that Dean and Melvin are colleagues at Radio 1.”

“That makes it worse. How do you not want to help someone you spend most of the day with outside the jungle?” penned a fourth.

“You really wouldn’t know Dean and Melvin are workmates,” quipped another.

“Melvin is fed up with Dean by the looks of it,” remarked a fan on X.

Another agreed: “Melvin wants to punch Dean in the face and I would absolutely love it if he did.”

The trouble escalated after Dean was asked to carry a pot of water back to camp. He told his fellow campmates: “That is no joke, the pot is so heavy.”

He added: “I hate doing the water guys I’ve said it, I’m just gonna have to hold my hands up, it’s an awful job and I hate it, and I don’t wanna do it anymore.

“Guys I can’t, it’s not for me!”

Camp leader Danny Jones snapped back: “Just get on with it mate.”

Dean replied: “Look, no beef, no drama, I just hate my job!”

Paired up to go back and forth to collect, carry and boil water, Melvin said of Dean: “It’s almost like another chore to ask him to help… it’s like telling a kid to tidy up his bedroom.”

Melvin ranted to his fellow campmates: “This is a lone man situation, he’s very good at disappearing.”

Refusing to let it lie, Melvin told Dean: “Listen, your new name is Houdini because you like to disappear!”

The camp descended into laughter as Oti exclaimed: “Shots fired!” while Dean was left too shocked to speak.
