I’m A Celebrity fans are concerned after last night’s episode showed one contestant getting extremely stressed.
Dean McCullough was nominated to take part in the bushtucker trial and face down the Sinister Sarcophagus in last night’s episode.
The Radio presenter had previously told his campmates he was claustrophobic and was horrified to find out that his challenge involved a confined space where he was going to be buried in sand and covered with creepy crawlies including meal worms.
The presenter event commented: ‘This is my worst nightmare because I can’t get out.’
After answering two questions about Egypt and earning two of the possible 10 points, the star shouted ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here’ and ended the challenge early.
He cried hysterically before composing himself and telling the hosts Ant and Dec that he was devastated to be letting down his campmates.
Dean then joked that he wanted to go hang out with Ant and Dec and avoid his fellow campers because he was so ashamed of his performance.
Due to Dean’s emotional reaction, he was immediately nominated by viewers to take part in another challenge – this time with GK Barry who also had a very dramatic reaction in previous trials.
However, some fans are concerned for the celebrity and are worried that he is set to leave the show if he is pushed too far.
‘I honestly fear that Dean or GK might end up walking and leaving the jungle #ImACeleb #Unpacked,’ said Face4209Ghost.
‘Mate mark my words Dean will be the first to walk #ImACeleb,’ said god_streams commented.
‘“Breaking: Dean gets 0 stars then leaves the show” #imaceleb,’ said LArsenal10.
Dean also received some criticism as many felt that his trial was ‘easy’.
‘Dean has just bottled one of the easiest challenges I’ve seen on #ImACeleb,’ commented AlexBatt.
‘Dean is an absolute lemon!!! The easiest trail you could get #ImACeleb’ said jamiewalker1992.
‘Why are the celebs pandering to Dean? He quit and let them starve because some sand was on his legs. I’d be calling him out for that bulls**t behaviour. IMACELEB,’ said Christianjw92.
However, the star did have some supporters who understood why he had to ditch the trial,
‘All these people judging Dean for quitting, the man was in a claustrophobic confined space which is his BIGGEST FEAR, having a legit panic attack. in those situations sometimes you have to just get yourself out of it immediately. #ImACeleb,’ said robertastall__.
