I’m A Celeb star Maura Higgins’ sweet first words on Pete Wicks romance after she exited the Jungle revealed in ITV Coming Out show

Must read

I’m A Celeb star Maura Higgins addressed her romance with Pete Wicks during the upcoming Coming Out show, which follows this year’s stars in their first moments after leaving the Jungle.

In the special episode, which will air on Friday night, the former Love Islander, 34, wasted no time in quizzing her pal about what the Strictly star, 36, is up to.

Not long after leaving the camp behind, she is seen asking her friend Talia: ‘Is Pete still in the show?’

In the car she says: ‘If you’re missing someone, you’re missing someone and it comes out. And I do, I miss him. Yeah, I really do miss him.’

Elsewhere in the episode, after having admitted she’d have like to have done a skydive as part of the show, Maura is put to the test and goes to a skydive centre.

She explains: ‘This has been one of those things that I’ve always wanted to do but I’ve just never been brave enough.’

After completing it she says: ‘This is just the cherry on top of the cake.’

Maura’s admission about missing Pete comes just after the pair were finally reuited after weeks of speculation over their romance.

The couple posed for a photo together in a London hotel, cuddling up with a group of friends as they celebrated Maura’s homecoming after her month-long trip to Australia for I’m A Celeb.

Maura had touched down at London Heathrow airport just hours before, but was obviously keen to catch up with Strictly star Pete was soon as possible.

A beaming Maura reposted her pal’s mirror selfie on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday night, with the group of friends seen surrounded by jungle themed balloons.

The I’m A Celeb star looked fresh-faced as she clutched a glass of wine whilst Pete stood at the back of the group, gazing down at her.

Pete wasn’t there to greet her at the airport with Maura swept off her feet by a loved one after landing at Heathrow.

The former Love Island will have plenty of time to catch up with Pete, who missed out on a place in the Strictly Come Dancing final on Sunday evening.

After reaching the BBC show’s semi-final stage with professional dance partner Jowita Przystał, the heavily tattooed star was eliminated following their latest dance-off.

During her time in the jungle, Maura seemingly confirmed that she was dating Pete after they were seen kissing just weeks before she flew to Australia.

When asked by former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse if was single, Maura replied: ‘I am but I was seeing someone before I came in but I’m not in a relationship.’

Reverend Richard Coles – a founding member of ’80s synth-pop group The Communards – then asked: ‘Was it exclusive? Or if I’ve put you on the spot, sorry!’, to which she replied after a long pause: ‘I dunno’.

Maura also revealed that the pair had known each other for longer than fans might expect – and said Pete had pursued her relentlessly.

‘Yeah, we’ve known each other since five years, and never once…” she told Oti.

‘He would always say, “Oh no, like, we are gonna go on a date somewhere.” And I’d be like, “We’re actually not.” And I was deadly serious, “We’re actually not. You’re delusional.”‘

Appearing on This Morning following her elimination from the show she shared her excitement at potentially seeing Pete upon her return to the United Kingdom and admitted he had encouraged her decision to enter the jungle.
