We’re on the lookout for some creative, patient and dedicated volunteers to support our members in their creative sessions on a Monday morning (art) and/or Friday afternoons (photography)

VOLUNTEERS FOR SOCIAL/SIGNPOSTING GROUPS FOR OLDER PEOPLE – ILKLEY GOOD NEIGHBOURS, ILKLEY

Volunteers needed for our Moving On Friendship Groups (social/signposting groups for older people). We have 2 groups on Thursday and Fridays and need volunteers at both between 1-3pm. Volunteering is on a rota to suit your availability.

Volunteers will help attendees feel welcome and relaxed, help with tea and coffee orders and help tidy up at the end of the session. You may also help at our excursions.

MENOPAUSE PEER SUPPORT GROUPS VOLUNTEERS – WHARFEDALE, AIREDALE AND CRAVEN ALLIANCE

We are looking for volunteers to assist with Menopause Peer Support Groups in Ilkley and Skipton. The Groups will meet once a month in the evening for a couple of hours.

KITCHEN VOLUNTEER – LS29 TIME HOLIDAY CLUB, ILKLEY

Calling all cooks! We need kitchen volunteers to help prepare tasty and healthy lunches at our charity-run holiday club for children with disabilities in the Easter, Summer and Xmas holidays. You will be part of a fun and friendly kitchen team with support workers and adults with additional needs. Kitchen experience and basic food hygiene certificate required. DBS preferred. The Helper Service is a local service providing support to people living with a terminal illness. We are looking for volunteers and are interested to hear from people with the compassion and empathy to support individuals for a few hours a week. FAMILY SUPPORT VOLUNTEER – HOME-START CRAVEN, SKIPTON AND SOUTH CRAVEN

Are you a parent or grandparent able to give 2 hours per week to support a family with children under 5 in their homes? We are looking to expand our team, volunteers work 1:1 with families who are struggling to manage the demands of parenting for a variety of reasons including multiple births, isolation and loneliness, if you have parenting experience and would like to be involved please email homestartcravenmanager@gmail.com

COMMITTEE MEMBERS – DEMENTIA FRIENDLY ILKLEY

The Ilkley group for dementia awareness and support needs more committee members to help spread the load and energise the work it does in the Ilkley area.

There is a monthly support meeting, and present members need extra hands to develop initiatives to promote dementia awareness. The Ilkley group has a few dementia awareness trainers who offer monthly sessions but the committee would like to do more publicity at events, etc. The time commitment can be as short as one hour a month or as long as individuals wish.

SHOP ASSIST AND BEFRIENDING SCHEMES

Could you spend an hour or two every week helping an older person? The ShopAssist and Befriending schemes (part of Ilkley and District Good Neighbours) need more volunteers and will pay expenses. Our schemes enable older people to remain independent for longer and give volunteers the opportunity to meet new people, build rewarding friendships and give something back to the local community. ILKLEY COMMUNITY TRANSPORT

Would you like to help your local community and join the friendly team at Ilkley Community Transport? We are a registered charity based in Ilkley and are always looking for CAR DRIVERS to provide lifts primarily to medical appointments for residents in the Ilkley and Addingham area who find public transport difficult to access due to age, illness or disability. Volunteers use their own cars and claim expenses for fuel at a pre-agreed rate. Drivers must be over 21, and have held a full licence for at least 2 years.
