A ’37-year-old’ has been left utterly crushed, after learning who her new boss really is.

To some, landing a new job with a huge raise and promotion sounds nothing short of a dream. But one woman saw this hopeful prospect turn into a complete nightmare, with her high school bully now her manager.

Before delving into her dilemma, the concerned employee claimed she’d been looking to move jobs for a very long time and the one offer she accepted was ‘the most perfect job ever’. The undisclosed position at a large multi-regional organisation apparently saw candidates undergo months of interviews for a chance at the role.

Training commenced a few weeks ago, with the woman seemingly eager to get cracking with her new life. But everything flipped upside down when she discovered the truth about her boss. Taking anonymously to Reddit, she said: “I just found out that the regional director is my high school bully.

“I’m quite affected by this, but won’t give any specifics of the bullying as it’s triggering.” Amid this, her husband apparently claimed that reporting it to the ‘boss of this boss’ is the best way to deal with it.

Though, she appeared stumped on what this could mean. She added: “I don’t want to bring it up with my other regional, and don’t want to address it at all with the company. My husband thinks I should disclose it to the person who hired me, who’s technically the boss of my boss.”

The anonymous post has since garnered plenty of comments on Reddit, with many users chiming in with their own advice about the tricky situation. One person wrote: “This is definitely something to disclose for a frame of reference if something happens down the line,” as another added: “I’d tell somebody. If a new employee told me that, I would try to find them a different position where they wouldn’t have to interact with that person.”

Others however, boldly accused the Redditor of lying, claiming there were details in this story that just didn’t add up. One wrote: “The story is a lie. Feel like most of the posts here are lies.”
