I had a fashion pro rate my looks for The Eras Tour, she binned my sequin shorts

Must read

IT SEEMS that everyone wants to stand out at The Eras Tour – from people dressing just like the star herself to one fan dressing up as a giant friendship bracelet.

But unlike Taylor Swift, most fans don’t have a stylist helping them put their outfit together for the concert.

I myself, just so happen to sit across Fabulous’ fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend, so of course, I was going to take advantage and have a personal stylist pick my outfit for The Eras Tour.

While I did skip DIYing my own Lover bodysuit, there are plenty of options on the high street to make sure you sparkle at her concert.

From sequin shorts, fluffy Karma coats and even sparkly dresses.

Naturally, cowboy boots have also been seen in every store, which we’re sure is related to Taylor’s country music days.

But what makes a good outfit and a bad one for the concert of the century?

I gave Clemmie free reign to have a look at my wardrobe and Fabulous’ wardrobe to see what’ll work and what won’t pass.

Party Pants

Taking inspiration from Taylor’s iconic Red section of the tour with an oversized white T-shirt and glitzy shorts, I thought this could be a winner.

While it looks super cute and perfect for the hot weather expected, the fashion pro did note it might not be best for jumping around.

Clemmie says:

Your outfit is such a huge part of the entire experience of the gig, and what says party more than sequin hot pants?

Are You Ready For Taylor Swift’s Epic UK Tour?

I love these but would be weary of chafing on the thighs so make sure you have lycra shorts on underneath for protection or ditch them all together to make sure you’re comfy all night long.

FOLK-GLORY

The Folklore setlist has some of arguably the best dresses with the whimsical delicate material flowing in the wind and I wanted to try to recreate that.

This summer dress seemed to tick it off without feeling too costume-like.

Concert Essentials

Fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend shares what you have to pack to make sure you get through the lengthy setlist.

CROSSBODY BAG: You want to be hands free to have as much fun as possible and hold your phone and or drinks, so take a cross body bag (with a zip) so you can have carefree fun.

COMFY SHOES: Whatever you do make sure you wear a pair of shoes you know are comfy and you’ve worn at least three times so they don’t rub.

LIGHTWEIGHT JACKET: Whether you’re waiting to leave the stadium with thousands of people or arriving early for the best spot – there’s a lot of standing around and weighting. Take a jacket you can easily tie around your waist until you need it.

HAIR TIE: If you’ve got your hair down be prepared to get hot and sweaty or drenched if your venue is open air. Take a hair bobble with you so you have one less thing to worry about.

This dress is gorgeous and looks so comfy and fun to wear, to finish off with another nod to Folklore I’d advise a cardigan.

You can’t rely on UK weather at the moment and you’ll be chilly after dark.

Meet Me At Midnight

It wouldn’t be an Eras Tour outfit list without having one inspired by her Midnights album and this showstopper ticks all the boxes.

The chainmail fabric adds sparkle without getting you covered in glitter and the T-shirt shape is similar to Taylor’s Anti-Hero dress.

Clemmie says:

This purple look is great, looks fun and a statement look to wear that will make you stand out from the crowd when you dance the night away.

Just make sure you have good foundations underneath to prevent the chainmail-style fabric from rubbing.

At Every Table I’ll Save You A Seat, Lover

The Lovers Festival Tour may have been cancelled because of the pandemic in 2020 but Taylor has made up for it with her killer intro into The Era’s Tour with Cruel Summer.

The romantic, summery vibe of the album was matched with this pastel Bardot dress and flat bow shoes.

Clemmie says:

I Lover this look for a wedding or for a girly brunch but for a concert, I’m just not sure but for practical reasons.

You can’t be dancing and waving your arms around without constantly readjusting the dress and the shoes are too flat, you want more support for standing around all night.

I Bet You Think About Me

this vault track has had a hold on me ever since she released it and I tired my best to find a dress to fit her red puffy one in the music video without it being too OTT for a concert.

I decided to pair it with cowboy boots, a classic in Taylor’s wardrobe.

Clemmie says:

This dress is fun with the ruffles, sexy with the V-neck and an all round perfect look with the cowboy boots for a gig.

Look good and feel good – it’s everything you want from an outfit.

Straight From The Tortured Poets Department

For those last minute people, you can always opt for buying some merch before the concert and chucking it on for a more casual Taylor-inspired outfit.

Clemmie says:

If in doubt on what to wear, you can’t go wrong with a Taylor Tee.

I love the patchwork jeans that are more elevated than plain denims and will be comfortable for all 3 hours.
