Hunter Biden offers to plead guilty in bid to avoid tax evasion trial

Hunter Biden has offered to plead guilty to nine charges of tax evasion to avoid what threatens to be an acutely embarrassing trial.

The president’s son had earlier attempted to avoid a hearing by accepting that the evidence against him in the $1.4 million case was overwhelming, but maintaining his innocence.

Prosecutors in the California case opposed that move as jury selection was set to begin. The US district judge Mark Scarsi is expected to decide whether to accept the proposal in the coming days.
