Huawei has introduced EMUI 15 for global users with Mate X6 foldable. The company launched the flagship phone globally on December 12. Alongside various new features, the device has surprised consumers with a brand-new operating system.
The current version in the EMUI world is EMUI 14.2. Huawei launched this build with the Pura 70 smartphones in April this year. Now the OEM amazed its global users by launching the Huawei Mate X6 with the EMUI 15.0 operating system.
So what does EMUI 15.0 bring on board?
Mate X6 features hint that EMUI 15.0 will bring some vibes on HarmonyOS NEXT to the table. Although things will only get confirmed with an official changelog.
EMUI 15 Features
With EMUI 15, Huawei Mate X6 users can access new lock screen themes. The first one is Emoji Crush. It will add an interactive theme on the lock screen with funny emojis. Shaking the device will automatically change emoticons in front of your eyes.
The second one is an immersive weather theme. You can witness changing weather on your phone’s screen in real-time. Thus, enjoy a fascinating look on the lock screen.
Apart from the new themes, EMUI 15 makes multitasking easier and allows users to run three applications at the same time. The official input implies that the feature will soon be available to more devices via the OTA (over-the-air) update.
Next is the Air Hoops gesture which is seemingly a software feature. It came with HarmonyOS NEXT in China and EMUI 15 in the global market. Tapping twice on the lock screen lets you play basketball on your phone with simple “throw” gestures.
Speaking of the AI part, EMUI 15 shows AI messaging that hides notifications when the phone detects someone else peeking into your device. Meanwhile, you can get the latest alerts on your smartwatch in real-time, protecting your privacy in all ways.
EMUI 15 Roadmap
Huawei hasn’t shared the EMUI 15.0 roadmap for its global devices yet. But it could soon drop an official announcement on this matter in the coming days. We’ll update the article as soon as hit with new revelations about EMUI 15. Stay tuned.
