Apple and Epic have been in a court battle for the past four years, and after various restrictions and bans, Epic Games has finally launched Fortnite in the EU for the iPhone and iPad. Apple and Epic went to court concerning the 30 percent fee cut in the App Store, and now that the company has implemented changes in the EU regarding its policies, Epic took advantage and brought back Fortnite to the iPhone and iPad.
Workaround to install Fortnite on your iPhone or iPad in countries outside of the EU
Countries outside of the EU also have the option to install Fortnite on the iPhone, but the process is not simple, as there is a workaround involved. We would advise you to follow the steps carefully and closely to install the title on your device.
As a prerequisite, the first thing that you have to do is get a paid Apple Developer Account that costs $99 a year. Note that you can use another workaround to install Fortnite on the iPhone without a Developer Account, but for now, we will be focusing on the method that requires it. If you have a developer account, you can simply proceed with the steps provided below.
Step 1: The first thing that you have to do is find an IPA file for Fortnite, which you will use later on to install the title.
(If you are not familiar, an IPA file is an archive of an app that is encrypted by default, and to decrypt the file, you need a jailbroken iOS device. However, users have distributed their decrypted IPA files of Fortnite online, so you can find one that best suits your device. The file is not too hard to find, but make sure it is compatible with your iPhone or iPad.)
Step 2: Once you do that log into your Apple Developer Account on the company’s website and head over to the Account tab and then click on Identifiers under Program Resources.
Step 3: Click on the Plus Button next to Identifiers on the new page and register a new App ID. When you are prompted to add the type, click App.
Step 4: On this page, you will be asked to write any description and a Bundle ID. Make sure that you remember the Bundle ID, as you will be using it later on. For example, you can add “com.xyzname.fortniteios.” You can also see the capabilities under the options.
Step 5: Now, enable both External Virtual Addressing and Increased Memory Limit. This will prevent the app from crashing, so be sure to enable them if you want the game to run flawlessly.
Step 6: Once everything is down, click on Register. This is all that you have to do on the Developer website.
Sideload Fortnite on iPhone or iPad
In this section, you will need a computer to install Fortnite, which you can do so through various platforms like Sideloadly, which allows you to customize the Bundle ID. Install the platform on your computer and connect your iPhone or iPad to it. You will be asked to put in your Apple ID which is linked to the paid developer account. Once you do that, select your device and drag and drop the decrypted IPA file into the app. Click on Advanced to proceed.
Under the Advanced options, uncheck Use automatic bundle ID and modify the bundle ID to the one you selected in Step 4. You are not required to change other settings, and you can now click Start. You will be required to select your team ID, but if you have a single team, the option will not appear on the screen. Now, Fortnite should start installing, which will take a minute or two, so be sure to sit back. Once the process is complete, you will be able to launch the title on your iPhone or iPad. Make sure that the Developer Mode is enabled to run the game through the Privacy & Security option in the Settings.
This is all that you have to do to install Fortnite on your iPhone or iPad outside of the EU region. We will be sharing additional guides, so do stick around for more.
