Tourism Trends in Cyprus (2023-2024)

From January to November 2023, Cyprus witnessed a significant surge in tourism with 3,722,022 tourists visiting the island, indicating a 20.4% increase compared to the previous year, according to a report.
The United Kingdom led the chart as the predominant source of tourists in November 2023, accounting for 26.8% of the visitors. Following closely were Poland, Germany, and Greece with 11.8%, 10%, and 9.7% of the total arrivals respectively.

Early 2024 Tourism Statistics

The Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat) noted that the number of tourists continued to rise in the early months of 2024, showing a 1.7% increase in the first four months compared to the same period last year. In April 2024, the UK again topped the list, contributing 35.3% of all tourist arrivals.

Israel and Poland were also significant contributors in April 2024, with tourist percentages at 10.7% and 7.6% respectively. Most tourists, 82.1%, visited Cyprus for holidays, which is an increase from the previous year’s 79.3%. There was also an uptick in business trips, which made up 8.3% of the visits, compared to 6% in April 2023.
