Horror hit Phasmophobia escapes last delay with sights on Halloween Xbox release

Xbox Series X|S players can take on the Phasmophobia achievements (if they dare) later this year, as Phasmophobia has confirmed a new Xbox release window, announcing that the console version will arrive alongside the in-game Halloween event. The game will also be increasing its price, with Kinetic Games also confirming that it has no Xbox Game Pass plans at the moment.

“Firstly we want to thank our incredibly passionate community for being patient with us while we work on the console update. With last year’s estimated release date ultimately being delayed, we shared the frustration with console players and had to make sure that when we announced a new release date, it was one that we could meet,” Kinetic Games says. “We’re thrilled to announce that the console update will be released this year, during our in-game Halloween Event. Once launched, all players will have access to cross-play, allowing you to play the newest version of the game with everyone, including those using VR on any platform.”

Phasmophobia’s price on all platforms will be increased to $19.99, with the team adding, “due to the amount of content and playtime added since the start of early access we feel this is a fair increase.” Kinetic Games has also confirmed that it currently has “no plans to be on Xbox Game Pass.”

The devs also plan to release all future updates on all platforms at the same time so that “cross-play is always available,” adding that “All platforms will be on the current major version, 0.10 at the console release. New content such as the farmhouse reworks will release afterwards.”
