HOLLYOAKS star David Joshua-Anthony has quit the soap after just one year.
The actor joined the Channel 4 series in December 2023 and quickly became a fan favourite.
He portrayed Andre Clark, the estranged brother of show regular Vicky Grant (played by Anya Lawrence).
His character was involved in a number of dramatic plots including him being reunited with his estranged dad and sister.
But now David will bow out of the soap in the coming weeks.
The Sun contacted Hollyoaks bosses for comment and they have confirmed the news.
David has since removed all references to the show from his bio and is the latest cast member to leave the show.
More than twenty cast members have been axed following the show being slashed to just three twenty-minute episodes per week.
In recent weeks several other actors have left the soap as it geared up for these upcoming changes.
One of them was soap favourite Iz Hesketh, who took to social media to announce that she is  ‘unemployed’ and ‘looking for work’.
In June The Sun exclusively revealed that Emma Rigby resigned from the Channel 4 soap less than a year after her high profile return.
The actress – who plays Hannah Ashworth – is said to have walked away over changes to the show.
An insider added: “There’s a worry other high profile cast members may see this as an opportunity to leave the show.
“While they’re all very supportive of the soap, the reduced budget and seeing friends and colleagues leave after so many years takes its toll.Â
“If more go willingly then it may be that the writing is very much on the wall for the show. It will be hard to recover from further blows.”
Hollyoaks – cast member cull
HOLLYOAKS beauty Chelsee Healey has dropped the biggest hint yet she’s been axed from the soap – yet what’s happening at the Channel 4 show?
Earlier this year, the Channel 4 soap was forced to address the cull of cast members.
It came after The Sun was first to report Hollyoaks bosses plan to kill off a whopping 20 cast members.
Now Chelsee, who recently took time away from her role as Goldie McQueen to give birth to her second daughter, has now made a cryptic move on X.
The Manchester lass, 36, re-posted a picture of her character crying to her page.
It came after Stephanie Waring, famed for her 28-year-long role as Cindy Cunningham, confirmed that soap bosses had axed her as part of the 20-person strong cast cull.
Another big name set to quit for good is popstar turned soap star Jamelia.
The soap’s resident hunk and TV favourite Owen Warner has also left the show amid the cuts with fans left devastated to say goodbye to his character Romeo Nightingale.
Jamie Lomas has also quit the show and will depart his Warren Fox role soon.
Haiesha Mistry famed for her role as Yasmine Maalik has also left after seven years.
