One of the largest holiday park operators in the UK is set to recruit hundreds of staff in Cornwall ahead of the busy tourist season. Parkdean Resorts is on the lookout for 750 staff to join its sites at Crantock Beach, Holywell Bay, Lizard Point, Looe Bay, Newquay, Sea Acres, St Minver, and White Acres.

The company said it will recruit 6,000 people across its 66 UK-wide parks. With 250 different careers across the business, the company is hiring for a wide range of roles in different departments and job opportunities include cleaners, bar and waiting team members, maintenance assistants, lifeguards, security officers, chefs and kitchen assistants.

The recruitment drive, and £750,000 investment to spruce up its Cornwall parks, comes as Parkdean Resorts announced an investment of more than £34m for 2024. It plans to refurbish more than 1,500 holiday homes, adding new caravans and introducing new food and beverage units.

Almost 200 caravans are being refurbished in Cornwall. Six new caravans have been added to parks in the region to improve accommodation options for holidaymakers, it says.

Steve Richards, CEO, said: “We’re always looking to invest in the guest experience at our parks. 59% of our customers rebook with us, and continuing to enhance our parks will help bring people back to Cornwall year after year.
