STAFF at a Tesco Express on the Isle of Wight were out early trying to stop customers from entering the store.
Employees wearing hi-visibility jackets, coned off the car park entrance to vehicles and stopped shoppers at its outlet, on Sandown Road/Lake Hill, Lake, from entering from around 7.30am this morning (Friday), according to eyewitnesses.
There was also a barrier erected at the entrance to the shop.
The store eventually opened this afternoon.
The County Press approached Tesco for a statement as to why it closed.
It read: “Lake Hill Express is now open as usual following planned maintenance works this morning. We apologise for the inconvenience.”
