Here’s The Exact Time ‘Black Ops 6’ And ‘Warzone’ Season 1 Go Live And What To Expect

Must read

Fans of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are in for a treat this week. Season 1 is almost upon us, and it not only means a ton of new content for Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Zombies, but full integration between that game and the free-to-play Battle Royale Warzone. There is a ton of content coming to both these games this week. We’ll go over that below after we cover when to expect all this content to go live.

When Does Black Ops 6 And Warzone Season 1 Launch?

The new season, along with a brand new Battle Pass and tons of content, a new Resurgence map and huge changes to Warzone all goes live at 9am PT / 12pm ET on Thursday, November 14th.

It’s entirely possible that the season will kick off a bit earlier than that, but this is the official start-time. It’s also possible that there will be launch-day issues and the season could start a little bit later, but for planning purposes, 9am PT / noon ET is when you should count on Season 1 starting.

So much new content is headed to Black Ops 6 in Season 1, it’s going to be hard to list it all. You can check out this image for a rundown of everything new to Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone:

What’s New In Black Ops 6 Multiplayer?

Multiplayer is getting six new maps, though several will be at the launch of Season 1 and the rest will come during the mid-season. These are:

At launch:

  • Hideout (6v6) Brand New
  • Extraction (6v6) Brand New
  • Heirloom (2v2 / 6v6) Brand New

Mid-Season:

  • Racket (2v2 / 6v6) Brand New
  • Hacienda (6v6) Remake
  • Nuketown Holiday (6v6) Reskin

Other additions to Multiplayer include the Hand Cannon Scorestreak, Shadow Perk, High Roller Wildcard and three modes: Ransack, Prop Hunt and Multiplayer Ranked.

What’s New In Black Ops 6 Zombies Mode?

The biggest edition to Zombies is Directed Mode, which basically gives players a more guided experience. Rather than figure out all the little objectives and secrets on your own, Directed Mode holds your hand, basically, showing you the Main Quest objectives on the Liberty Falls and Terminus maps. The rounds are capped at 15 in this mode, which seems a bit too limited but it must work.

The other big update is a third Zombies map, Avalon: Citadelle des Morts, which comes mid-season. Judging by the image above, it’s going to be another wildly different setting from the first two maps, and will continue the story established on Terminus.

Lots of other content is coming to Zombies, including new Augments, Ammo Mods, enemies, weapons and more.

What’s New To Warzone In Season 1?

Probably the biggest change coming to Warzone is the integration with that game and Black Ops 6, meaning the radically updated Omnimovement system—where you can sprint and dive in any direction—makes its way to Battle Royale and Resurgence. But there are lots of other changes. The loot system has been totally overhauled. Black Ops 6 guns will be added to the game, and will likely dominate.

Of course, the star of the show will be the new Area 99 map, which I’ve actually played quite a bit on already. It’s a desert map thematically tied to Nuketown, with factories and housing pods and all kinds of quirky locations. It’s quite small and combat is fierce and hectic. I actually already have several W’s on this map, as I played it at a preview event and had some amazing games. I can’t wait to dive back in!

Ranked Play will also return to Warzone, returning to Battle Royale and the big map at first.

What’s New Across Titles?

The updated, unified UI will go live at Season 1’s launch, hopefully streamlining the games even more. A unified Battle Pass will also go live, with a streamlined system that abandons the Battle Pass “map” we’ve seen for the past few games.

But the most exciting addition to any new season are the new guns. In Season 1, we’ll get:

At Launch:

  • Krig C Assault Rifle (pictured above) a full-auto AR with decent handling and damage that sounds like a good “all-rounder” unlocked in the Battle Pass (as a free unlock).
  • Saug SMG, a full-auto SMG with excellent mobility, handling and rate of fair, but high recoil, unlocked in the Battle Pass (as a free unlock).

Mid-Season

  • Maelstrom Shotgun, a full-auto shotgun with good range and handling but high recoil and hip spread. This is unlocked as an event reward.
  • AMR Mod 4 Sniper Rifle, a semi-auto rifle with high recoil, high damage and slow rate of fire, unlocked as an event reward.
  • Sirin 9mm, a full-auto pistol that functions like a small SMG, though it has a slower rate of fire than many. This will be in a new “Special” category of secondary weapons, also an event reward.
  • Power Drill, a melee weapon that can also be used to get a little work done around the house—two-hit kill, short range, very fast and also a special event reward.
  • Cleaver, a one-hit kill melee that’s short-medium range with medium attack speed, unlocked via special event.

There will also be new weapon attachments and conversion kits.

There’s lots more coming in Season 1, including events, rewards, new Item Shop bundles—including one for The Replacer!— and other unannounced content so stay tuned. I’ll be playing the new season and plenty of Warzone tomorrow and will report back with my impressions.
