Microsoft has been thrown into chaos again due to its second global outage in less than two weeks. The issue is impacting ‘multiple Microsoft 365 services and features,’ the company said in a post on social network X Tuesday morning

Reports about the outage surfaced around 9:15am ET, impacting Microsoft’s ‘network infrastructure,’ which is critical for connectivity and communication between users, apps, devices and the internet.

The previous outage, on July 19, was triggered by a cybersecurity update glitch but the source of the current issue has not yet been revealed.

Starbucks

The coffee giant’s mobile app was also hit by the outage plaguing Microsoft.

Users reported problems logging into their accounts and checking out at around 8:30am ET, according to DownDetector.

DownDetector’s outage map shows issues in Boston, New York, Washington DC, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tampa and other major cities.

Approximately 91 percent of the issue stems from the app, with seven percent of people citing they cannot log in to their accounts and two percent cannot checkout.

At least 33 million Americans use the app, but the number of users impacted is unknown.

The app offers mobile ordering, payment and rewards that can be redeemed for free food and drinks.

Microsoft 365
