Helldivers 2 is a game that the community will likely still be playing in a decade if the first entry is anything to go by. This means that there are a lot of plans that could take months or even years to come to fruition. If these new leaks are anything to go by, the Galactic War is about to pick up as Super Earth is set to unveil new ways to eradicate the Automatons and Terminids.
U/Tier5NPC took to Reddit to reveal that Helldivers 2 is set to receive a Clan system, which will allow players to group together and build a Platoon that can unlock exclusive rewards, including new Stratagems. There will also be new Sample types that are expected to come to the game over the coming months.
Clan Exclusive Stratagems
Three new Stratagems are set to come to Helldivers 2 as part of the new Clan system. These will be a Carpet Bomb, Medical Supplies, and a massive 1,000KG Atomic Bomb, which is guaranteed to wipe out all life in its blast radius.
The Carpet Bomb is said to have a blast radius of 65×65 and is capable of destroying an entire Heavy Automaton Post with a single use. The 1,000KG Atomic Bomb is even more devastating with a blast radius of 350m, only players equipped with light armor, a Jump Pack, and the Experimental Infusion Booster will be able to outrun it. Using this Stratagem will mean certain death.
Finally, the Medical Supplies Stratagem will send down 8-16 Stims for you and your squad to heal up after a ferocious battle against the Automatons or Terminids.
Upcoming Stratagems
The new leak has also revealed that three more Stratagems are set to come to Helldivers 2, with these being the Missile Silo, Medical TacPack, and HMG Defensive Turret.
The Missile Silo contains a 600KG SAM Missile and players must retrieve the laser pointer which will replace their secondary weapon. Then when you tag an enemy or location the missile will activate and quickly impact where the laser is pointing.
Like the Medical Supplies Stratagem, the TacPack will contain 8 Stims that you can carry in a backpack and either use yourself or give to your teammates, similar to the ammo reload backpack that is currently in Helldivers 2.
Finally, the HMG Defensive is a new turret that uses dual Autocannons to “shred anything that crosses its path.”
New Samples
In addition to the Common, Rare, and Super Samples that are currently in Helldivers 2, five new Samples will be coming to the game when the new The Illuminate finally arrives. Like the current Samples, these will be used to purchase upgrades, but there is currently no information as to what upgrades these will be used for.
Clan Ranks
Helldivers 2 is set to receive a Clan system in the future, which will grant players ranks that can be leveled up. There is no information on how you will level up, but it is possible that this could be used to make killing enemies or completing side objectives more important. Currently, you are granted no XP for killing enemies or collecting Samples.
The ranks would also unlock Clan-specific Stratagems and items, with only players at select ranks being able to call them down, which will encourage players to focus on gaining the highest rank possible.
As with any leaks, take all information with a grain of salt. However, much of this has been in the in-game files for many months now and has been modified and updated, indicating that these are actively being worked on.
Although these leaks are exciting, I wouldn’t expect them to arrive any time soon. Following the community backlash from the Escalation of Freedom update, Arrowhead Game Studios is hard at work trying to fix many of the issues. These include buffing many weapons to rebalance the game and fix problems that have been plaguing Helldivers 2 such as performance and crashing issues.
This will happen as part of a 60-day roadmap that will see Helldivers 2 receive frequent updates over the next few months, so expect plenty of changes in the game. Hopefully, this will help to rebuild player trust as the game has been struggling with its player count as many have given up on the game and moved on. Many are still hopeful that the future is bright for Helldivers 2 and the community will be keeping a close eye over these coming months as we head closer to the one-year anniversary of its release in February 2025.
