Helen Skelton cheers on Paddy McGuinness during his epic cycle challenge

Paddy is attempting to cycle almost 300 miles from Wrexham AFC to Glasgow on a Raleigh Chopper to raise much needed funds for BBC Children in Need.

Crowds – including Helen – lined the streets in Penrith and Carlisle to see Paddy pass through on day three of his challenge which has raised more than £3million. 

Paddy began early on Wednesday morning in Kendal before travelling up through the county to Penrith before soldiering on into Carlisle.

Having passed through the border city, Paddy crossed into Scotland where he finished for the day at Ecclefechan.

Day four saw cycle through the Scottish Borders to Strathaven before finishing in Glasgow on Friday, November 15.

In Cumbria, Paddy conquered one of his major challenges on the whole route at Shap where he pedalled to the summit at 1,400ft.
